Early engagement is something that GMP always actively encourage, Cecil Avenue was a success story for this. Weekly design meetings between GMP, the client and the engineer enabled the project to be value engineered effectively for both cost and programme. Due to groundwater concerns a water relief bore was undertaken, a simple solution to a common issue. GMP also undertook further calculations for both the anchorage design and also to tie back the sheet piled wall into the new pile caps, to provide an economical solution.
